1. Industrial biotechnology partners of any size, especially SMEs with strong interest in a "green" production route to propionic acid and its commercial exploitation. The partner ideally has experience in the development of biotechnological processes. The partner should be experienced in working with anaerobic microbes and wish to participate in the scale up of the new biotechnological process to a semi-pilot scale (1000 L / TLR 5/6).
2. Industrial partners, especially SMEs with an interest to use propionic acid as bio-based product in other applications. These might e.g. be producers of organic animal feed or producers of "green" additives for food or pharmaceuticals.
3. A partner from cheese industry would also be welcome to support the project need for different quality of whey wastes. The bio-based propionate production will then be tuned to the waste provided. Dairy farms or cheese factories could benefit from the project from exploitation of whey wastes. |
